Paragraph Text - Germantown Baptist Church was founded in 1836 as New Hope Baptist Church with a building on Germantown Road. The original building was destroyed by fire in 1862 when Federal forces took command of the community. The building was reconstructed in the same location and still stands today as a historic monument.
In 1995 the church completed our current facilities located on Poplar Ave towards Collierville. After our new Poplar Avenue campus was completed, it served as host not only to worship services, but also conferences, concerts, men’s and women’s retreats, graduations, seminars and hosts of sports leagues.
