Over the course of history, composers have used music as a tool for expressing emotions, such as joy and sorrow. Others wrote music to cope with the loss of a loved one. In 1881, Tchaikovsky wrote his Piano Trio upon the loss of a close friend and mentor.  He dedicated it “in memory of a great artist.” The work explores the full range of emotions, but ultimately ends somberly. On April 23, you’ll have the opportunity to hear this work performed by Estefan and Carissa Perez and Dawson Hull. The concert, titled “Memories,” is the sixth and final Masterpiece Concert of the season. It will take place in the GBC Music Hall at 7:00 PM, and is free and open to the public.
